5 Unusual and Wow Venues for Your Event in London

The Bloomsbury 

The Coral Garden located in The Bloomsbury hotel, is a beautiful and elegant space offering a warm and peaceful environment in both summer and winter. The private garden is perfect for dining, parties and weddings. Equally, The Coral Room is a grand, villa-styled bar topped with chandeliers and if you didn’t guess the room is coral coloured. Perfect for cocktails, small plates, afternoon tea or brunch the space is suitable for staff drinks or if you even wanted to treat your client to a cheeky vino! The hotel is only a 3 minute walk from Tottenham Court Road tube station. 

St Ethelburga Centre 

The St Ethelburga Centre is an old church in Bishopsgate, near Liverpool Street Station. The church was damaged by a bomb in 1993, since then they have restored and rebuilt the church, reopining as a centre for reconcilliation and peace. They offer two incredibly special rooms within their venue. Firstly, The Nave, suitable for workshops, talks, concerts, film viewings, parties and music events. It has a laser projector, sound system, microphones, uplighters and a piano. The room is rich in history with high ceilings, original arches and a stained glass window. They are able to have a standing capacity of 120 people, 85 pax in a theatre/presentation style or a maximum of 18 guests seated in a U-shape. The second room, The Bedouin Tent, is a beautiful courtyard space excellent for workshops, meetings, away days, baby showers, proposals, bridal showers - the lot!! The room fits 25 guests. The St Ethelburga Centre can provide tea, coffee and biscuits for small groups or can provide catering with their food partner if you wish. 

Shangri-La - The Shard  

What better way to host an event in London than by looking over it? ‘Take your meeting to new heights’ with a meeting in the sky at the Shangri-La. They have a range of meeting spaces from 1-140 pax available in a range of styles; theatre, reception, classroom or banquets. The Shangri-La Hotel is also a unique venue for weddings or other celebrations for up to 100 guests, they are able to curate tailor-made menus using ingredients from near-by food markets. Ps. there’s an incredible infinity pool on level 52! What’s more ‘wow’ than hosting an event in Europe’s tallest building, ey? 

Haugen 

Haugen is an Alpine-inspired cafe, restaurant and rooftop all in one. Located outside Westfield Stratford, the Bauhaus inspired wood and glass building is a magnificent venue to host an event. They have amazing menu choices for events, using locally sourced ingredients, and are influenced by their A la carte menu or are able to create a bespoke menu to suit your needs. The venue has numerous spaces to hire depending on your requirements. The Pavillion is a rooftop bar, open all year round with amazing ‘Instagramable’ views, perfect for a drinks reception and has a capacity of 10-170 guests. Haugen also has a range of meeting and private dining spaces and are able to accommodate 6-100 people for a seated meal. 

Aures London 

Aures London incorporates art, technology, performances and exhibitions to create a unique immersive experience. The space is a ‘blank canvas’, excellent for brand activations, product launches, corporate events, immersive experiences and music events. The versatile and customisable space comes with wifi, 3 phase power, ground floor load-in, 300 pax standing and in-house AV tech. There is also a bar which offers different packages of a range of drinks and food. Aures London is located on Leake Street, in a lively part of London just next to Waterloo Station.
