The Best Ads of Euros 2024 (So far!)

June saw the return of the UEFA European Football Championship and we've thoroughly enjoyed all the footy and cheering on our home team (COME ON ENGLAND!). As a marketing agency, our eyes have naturally drawn to the engaging and innovative adverts that have graced our screens. From emotional health messages to nostalgic pop culture crossovers, here are our favourite marketing campaigns we spotted during the breaks of the Euros 2024!

⚽️ Prostate Cancer UK - A Future Full of Good Things (Layla)

Think about all the good things life has to offer: laughter, adventure, new family members... Prostate Cancer UK's "A Future Full of Good Things" encourages men, especially men of colour, to get tested for prostate cancer so they can be around for the sweetest moments life has to offer.

This one really tugged at our hearts and really stood.  The campaign's urgent but hopeful message stands out in a field often dominated by fear-based health warnings, making it a truly memorable piece.

But why exactly does this particular ad stand out? The tone set and the juxtaposed imagery are beyond memorable. You would never think to combine babies and prostate cancer but Prostate Cancer UK took these two seemingly separate images and combined them together, making the messaging and imagery stand out, memorable and effective! Bravo from the team.

⚽️ British Heart Foundation - England 'til I Died

Did you know that every week around 12 young people die from sudden cardiac death in the UK? Neither did we. The British Heart Foundation's "England 'til I Died" campaign taps into the passionate world of football to deliver a powerful message about heart health. It features emotionally charged stories of fans who lived and breathed football until their unexpected deaths. Powerful and poignant, this campaign connects deeply with the football community and beyond.

⚽️ Three UK - Midnight Mums' Club

3 am, crying baby, and unlimited, reliable internet. Three's Midnight Mums Club shines a light on the unique experiences of mothers during the late-night hours. It celebrates the community and support among women who stay connected through Three's network while dealing with the challenges of nighttime parenting. By focusing on a niche yet universally relatable audience, Three UK successfully highlights the reliability and importance of their network.

⚽️ Müller Rice x Declan Rice - Rice, Rice, Baby!

Last but not least, Muller Rice teamed up with England midfielder Declan Rice to create a nostalgia-filled campaign for their products. Featuring a playful twist on everyone's guilty pleasure "Ice Ice Baby," Müller Rice effortlessly created one of the most iconic UK sport and pop culture crossovers we've seen all year! The ad's fun and energetic vibe, combined with Declan Rice's charm, makes it a real standout.

From Prostate Cancer UK's heartfelt "A Future Full of Good Things" to the British Heart Foundation's powerful "England 'til I Died," each campaign has spoken to at least one member of our team, just showing how deeply you can connect with a diverse group of people through pinpointed and emotional messaging that transcends advertising.

As we continue to monitor the most innovative and effective marketing strategies globally, the team here at Goho are super excited to share what the rest of the year has in store for us. Stay tuned to our blog and sign up for our newsletter for more updates on the latest trends and campaigns!
