Marrakech: The Next Destination for Your Incentive Trip!
Looking for a memorable destination for your next incentive trip? Escape to the vibrant, warm, and culturally rich city of Marrakech, Morocco! With its stunning venues, luxurious accommodations, and unique experiences, Marrakech is the perfect choice for an unforgettable corporate getaway.
This month, we were invited by M&I for a three-day conference in Marrakech for buyers and suppliers in the events industry. Mika flew in and was busy making connections with hotels, venues and DMCs from all over the world.
We also checked out a bunch of venues and fun activities while we were there. Here is some inspiration for what you can get up to in the ‘Daughter of the Desert’.
A Luxurious 5-star stay at Marrakech Mövenpick
We stayed at the luxurious Marrakech Mövenpick, a five-star hotel located in the bustling L'Hivernage district, just minutes from the vibrant Medina. The hotel boasts 503 contemporary rooms and suites, a tranquil spa, yoga studio, swimming pools, and five diverse restaurants, including a rooftop lounge offering a fusion of Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine.
For corporate events, the hotel is directly connected to the Palais des Congrès Marrakech, the city’s largest venue, offering exhibition spaces, auditoriums, meeting rooms, and banqueting facilities. It’s the ideal spot to combine business with relaxation.
Something fun about this hotel – they have peacocks and rabbits roaming freely around the grounds!
Non-Stop Cultural Activities and Entertainment at Beldi Country Club
In the evening, we headed to the iconic Beldi Country Club for a networking event. Spanning 15 hectares, the club features lush gardens, charming riad and a large ksar, and a grand ballroom known as L’Orangeraie, perfect for hosting extravagant events and non-stop entertainment.
The Beldi’s unique village-style layout, with narrow alleyways, shaded courtyards, and traditional architecture, creates an authentic Moroccan experience. Attendees can enjoy various activities, from golf, quad biking, cooking classes, pottery workshops, and horseback riding. They got facilities for playing golf, padel, pétanque, tennis and swimming.
If that’s not enough, guests can make their own bread in the morning at an authentic Morroccan bakery!
A Tranquil Walk along the Majorelle Gardens
The next morning, we explored the enchanting Majorelle Gardens, a serene oasis of exotic plants, winding paths, and vibrant blue structures that blend Art Deco and Moorish influences. Once owned by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, the gardens are also home to the Berber Museum, which houses over 600 cultural artifacts.
The Majorelle Café is a must-visit, offering a delightful selection of Moroccan and Continental breakfasts, along with fresh, local lunch options. This tranquil retreat offers a perfect break from the city's bustling energy.
Glamorous History at the Yves Saint Lauren Museum
Then, just a few minutes away from the gardens, we went to see the Yves Saint Laurent museum! The fashion giant has a long love story with Marrakech, and we got to see iconic haute couture creations, sketches, and personal artifacts and learn a bit of glamorous history.
The museum also features a research library, an auditorium, a bookstore, and a café, making it a cultural hub and an essential destination for fashion enthusiasts and art lovers alike.
You can also book out the museum for events and parties to add a touch of elegance to any corporate gathering.
An Authentic Morroccan Stay at La Maison Arab
In the evening, we had another networking party at La Maison Arab’s Secret Garden of the Kasbah, a luxury riad-hotel with lush gardens and a pool located in the Medina.
With 26 unique suites, each featuring a private terrace and fireplace, and dining options ranging from traditional Moroccan to French and Asian cuisine, the hotel offers an authentic and refined experience. La Maison Arabe also boasts a renowned cookery school, spa, and hammam, along with a Country Club for a peaceful retreat just outside the city.
A Desert Soiree at the Agafay Valley Camp
For our final evening, we ventured into the Agafay Valley desert for a breathtaking farewell party. Surrounded by rugged landscapes, we enjoyed a delicious three-course meal followed by dancing under beautifully tented pavilions.
The camp offers luxury domes, a pool villa, and a restaurant serving African cuisine, with panoramic views of the desert and Atlas Mountains. Guests can immerse themselves in adventurous activities like camel riding, quad biking, or even a hot air balloon ride. It’s an extraordinary venue for a unique, unforgettable event.
