The Best Event Venues in London

Goho has teamed up with some of the most impressive, unusual, high-quality venues in London for our new series of monthly showcases, GoShow (See what we did there).

Yes, each month, we’ll be taking a group of our clients (and potential clients), for an experience at our favourite venues and partners across the capital, and even a little further beyond. It could be a luscious lunch, champagne brunch or exclusive overnight stay, but whatever the event, it will be memorable!  We hope to show you things you’ve never seen, taste things you’ve never tasted and inspire you for your future events with venues that’ll knock your socks off.

Our first GoShow was on Wednesday 17th August at the ultra-luxe 5-star luxury Pan Pacific London and girl, was it impressive. We were joined by 8 of our fabulous clients for a private show round of their beautiful property, followed by the lunch to end all lunches. (I can still taste the Laksa now, and have been dreaming about it ever since).

Starting in the beautiful foyer, their beautifully dressed bell boys and FOH staff greeted us with chilled water and smiles. We were shown Tiger Lilly, their incredible rum bar, their gorgeous ballroom with the best screens we’ve ever seen (in the world actually.. seriously AV is important if you’re doing a big event, trust us). Complete with its own private escalator through a glass pyramid, your guests would be whisked down to a beautiful subterranean ballroom complete with Swarovski crystals and the best tech you can get.

We saw the bedrooms next, and the group were blown away by the first room we experienced, a bright, beautiful, diptyque-laden haven slap bang in the middle of the city. This room was just wow, no hard lines, a rain shower of epic proportions, a huge bed complete with crisp Egyptian cotton bedding, and a massive mirror with plugs and a stand for your hair dryer/straighteners… and did we mention the diptyque toiletries? We were further blown away to discover this is their entry-level room. No shit, these guys mean business. Next, we saw a suite, which whilst utterly gorgeous too, felt more masculine and not as bright as what we have now decided is the “best entry-level hotel room in London”.

Amanda Pelvay, our fabulous host, whisked us off to the well-being floor next, where we were again, blown away by the gym, complete with everything you could EVER need, and everything you didn't know you needed, (D Wall anyone? Yes, answer yes, you’ll thank us later). Then came THE pool. 15 metres of infinity pool, cascading over views of St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate Church in a warm, tropical room complete with poolside butler service if you fancy a glass of fizz, this is what dreams are made of.

Lastly, we saw the meeting rooms, starting with an Events Emporium, holding an event at PP means you get to work with the Pan Pacific magic makers who will talk you through all the different cutlery, crockery, table runners, scents, you get the gist… seriously you can plan out every single detail so your event is completely unique to you. A brilliant service we haven't seen before.

Next the meeting spaces, as we’d come to expect from the rest of the hotel, they were incredible, airy, bright, spacious, and did we mention the entire place smelled bloody amazing?!

We finally settled in the Katong room for our private lunch, ice cold champagne was poured and we picked our main courses from a set menu. The starters were served a sharing ‘tasting’ platter so we got to sample some of their signature dishes. Scallops in silken curry sauce, king prawns in spicy but sweet chilli sauce and the best chicken satay we had ever eaten were washed down with a Chinese riesling that even changed my opinion of the new world wines. For the main, almost everyone went for the signature Laksa, with the others opting for the Black Cod, and Jacobs Ladder Rendang. My mouth is still watering from this fantastic dish, I slurped my way through a massive bowl of the most delicious Laksa broth, Lobster tail and perfectly cooked noodles. This was served with a delicious Rose which Amanda explained is one of the best wines to pair with Laksa, complementing the spicy flavours perfectly. We drank many bottles of that pale pink nectar. Next we had a delicious dessert of mango, coconut soup, sago and black sesame fortune cookies. Seriously this was something dreams are made of, and Mari and I actually finished off two portions. Oops.

Lastly, two outstanding creations were brought to the table, complete with dry ice and a serious wow factor, these had been created by their in-house patisserie chef Cherish Finden who you may know from Bake Off: The Professionals in 2016. Stunning doesn't cut it. They were works of art which tasted incredible too. Just WOW.

Why are we telling you all this? Firstly, to show off a little :) … Secondly, so you can see and hear about how fabulous Pan Pacific is, even if you haven’t been there, we hope this gives you a small flavour of what to expect and how utterly fabulous it would be for your event, staycation or hell, even a night out with the girls, and thirdly, so we whet your appetite to apply to come to our next GoShow (Which happens to be 5.30pm, on Thursday 8th September at The Hoxton), register your interest to attend using this link.

If you are looking for a jaw-dropping venue for your next event, staff incentive, away day, girlie weekend or anything else for that matter, get in touch and we can organise a showround and bespoke quote for you. Pan Pacific is the epitome of luxury without feeling stuffy or old-fashioned, it's modern, luxurious, relaxing and almost spa-like inside. You know we always create events that make your guests go wow, and this is certainly a venue and team that will deliver that.
