The Client: 

Vine Travel is a boutique wine tour agency that brings travellers closer to Spain’s diverse wine regions. Hosting highly personalised tours for small and private groups, guests are able to gain intimate access to winemakers and learn about the nuances of each region’s terroir. Based in Madrid, Vine Travel crafts an unforgettable journey through renowned wine destinations such as Rioja and Ribera, delivering an immersive experience in the heart of Spain’s wine culture.

Founded in 2023 by Michael Pope, a certified wine expert and a Spanish Wine Scholar with the Wine Scholar Guild, each tour is designed to go beyond traditional wine tasting, immersing clients in the heritage and stories behind every bottle.

The Brief:

Vine Travel needed a PR and marketing push to boost awareness, attract tourists, and position itself as a must-do tour for wine lovers visiting Spain.

Michael Pope also wanted to solidify his reputation as a wine expert through press coverage at reputable news outlets.

Our Approach: 

We crafted attention-grabbing boilerplates and pitches for both Vine Travel and Michael Pope and got to work on responsive PR, keeping an eye out for journalists wanting to write about wine, tourist activities in Spain, and interesting human interest angles (as Michael’s story about moving from the UK to Spain made for an engaging story).

The Results  

Thanks to our quick and vigilant responsive PR approach, within the first month, we received a total of 8 placements, amassing estimated views of 587k and a very positive average domain authority of 86. 

We got Vine Travel and Michael Pope mentioned in widely-read publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, The Evening Standard, and The Mirror. The pieces ranged from articles where Michael showed off his expertise in wine, to recounts of Michael’s story as an expat in Spain.
