So, when we heard about Moonshine Saloon, a hidden gem in London that promised a night of cocktail smuggling, cowboy hats, and fully immersive Wild West chaos, we knew we had to see if it was Worth a Goho.
The Concept
Moonshine Saloon is not your average bar. It’s an immersive cocktail experience, where you and your crew smuggle in your own booze and step straight into the boots of cowboys in a Western town. It's part-theatre, part-drinking, part-what-the-hell-is-going-to-happen-next kind of night – and we were all loving it!
As soon as you step through the saloon doors, you leave 2025 London behind. You’re in the Wild West now, and you best believe the actors make sure you know it. We were handed cowboy hats and capes, and given strict instructions to keep our smuggling operation on the low
The Smuggling (and the Cocktails)
The concept is simple but genius – you bring your own bottle of booze, hand it over to the bartenders, and they mix up 4 bespoke cocktails for you throughout the evening. If you don’t drink, you can bring alcohol free spirits too. There isn’t a drinks menu and you don’t get to pick the cocktails, (but of course you can say your preferences in case there’s something you hate like we all detest aniseed, EW) – just trust the experts to work their magic and you definitely won’t be disappointed!
Immersive… Like Actually Immersive
One thing we’ve noticed with “immersive” experiences is that sometimes it’s just a bit of themed decor and a half-hearted performance. Not here. The Moonshine Saloon team are on it from the second you arrive. The actors stay in character the entire time, improvising based on what you and your group do or say, and pulling you deeper into the storyline. There’s tension with the Sheriff and constant hints that if you put a foot wrong, your smuggling operation could be ruined! You’re encouraged to get involved – chat with the actors, play along with the storyline, and let yourself get swept up in the drama.
Games
In between all the smuggling and sipping, there’s plenty to keep you entertained. You each get a little Moonshine Saloon branded box with a pack of cards and dice to play a few classic games like Go Fish, which naturally led to things getting very competitive within the Goho team, you can also take it home with you as a little souvenir!
The Verdict… is Moonshine Saloon Worth a Goho?
Absolutely.
Moonshine Saloon is perfect for teams who want something a bit different – it’s relaxed but exciting, fun but with a bit of an edge. It’s a brilliant way to get everyone involved, especially if you’ve got a mix of personalities. The cocktails are top-tier, the storytelling is fantastic, and it’s the kind of night that gives your team something to talk about for weeks.
