GoShow at The Marylebone
Another month, another fabulous GoShow. The star this time was one of our favourite venues in London, The Marylebone Rooms.
Yes, I know I always say the venue is one of our favourites, but the art-deco design, the versatile spaces and the impeccable service really make The Marylebone one of a kind.
Our amazing hosts, Simon Johnson and Stephanie Edwards, welcomed us with champagne (of course) and a delicious selection of canapés - a cheeky warm-up to introduce our fantastic guests (what a group, by the way)!
We started with a quick show round. We visited the elegant Blue Room, the wonderful Long Room, and the unbeatable Number 6... And as if that wasn't enough, we also saw some rooms, including one of the suites - and I'm still dreaming of having a New Year's party in that space.
Then we went back to the Courtyard, where our lunch was served. Our guests absolutely loved the space - but how could they not? The Courtyard has stunning decor and works really well both for the summer, thanks to its retractable roof, and for the winter, thanks to the fireplaces making it super cosy and warm.
The menu was mouthwatering. For the main, we had a delicious miso-glazed cod fillet with oyster mushroom and Jasmin sticky rice - the vegetarian alternative was a beautiful Wild mushroom & tarragon risotto. These were followed by a warm cru Virunga chocolate fondant with praline ice cream - chocolate lovers, you need to try this. Thank us later. The gluten and lactose free alternative was fresh pineapple carpaccio with sorbet.
A special thanks to Marylebone, Doyle Collection and Avenue Sales for their impeccable service and attention (as always), and to our guests who made the day even more special.
And that was the last GoShow of the year, after three successful editions and an incredible one planned for January (watch this space). In the meantime, we'll see you at our Christmas party, to celebrate together the amazing year 2022 has been.
