The Client:
Phenom is an HR technology company with a twist. Using their AI-based, intelligent talent experience platform, Phenom helps global enterprises hire faster, develop better and retain their people longer.
The Brief:
Phenom were exhibiting at the Gartner Conference at the Intercontinental O2 and wanted our help to arrange a unique and immersive networking experience to host current and future clients. They requested support with sourcing a venue, decoration, entertainment, catering, drinks and full event management.
The Challenge:
To create a one-of-a-kind, memorable experience, we had to think outside the box and use our creative flair to our advantage. One major challenge we faced was sourcing a venue within the desired location with the ability to provide a unique group activity. The Greenwich Peninsula/O2 area doesn’t have any independent or unique venues per se. The group didn’t want to travel to a different part of London either.
Our Approach:
We brainstormed as a team and used our top notch knowledge of the area and had the idea of hosting an event at the Cable Car terminal, treating the guests to a party “in the clouds”.
The Cable car is run by TFL and they didn’t have an events option, but we persevered and managed to negotiate them closing the main hall of the terminal to be privatised for our event. We then called on our creative network of trusted partners to add the special touches and make this an event to remember.
To bring Goho’s vision to life, we stripped the venue from top to bottom (removing teddy bears from the venue’s build a bear workshop and gifts from the gift shop) and replaced all furnishings with Phenom-themed decor and props. Alongside the personalised decorations, we installed custom lighting and a custom-built bar paired with an organic, locally sourced grazing table. We also called in the services of Radio 1 DJ Maia Beth to spin the tunes. We used our PR contacts to source contents for custom made, recyclable goody bags, (cause who doesn’t love a goody bag).
Results
The event was a resounding success - The clients had a private party at the cable car terminal in North Greenwich. The guests left with full bellies, goody bags in hands and memories to last a lifetime.
